The girls’ softball team has qualified for three national World Series tournaments this year-USSSA (Orlando), WFC (Myrtle Beach) and NSA/PONY (Greensboro, S.C.). Vital in each game was the moundwork of Danny Gerber, Eric Schmoll, Nick Yedman, Evan Buckley, Jack Jones and Wyatt Atkinson. Team manager Adam Gerber and coaches Dan Gannon, Fran Lee and Glenn Jones used six different pitchers during the three-day, four-game tournament. The Storm faced Medford in the championship game and came out on top by a score of 12-5.Īfter a dominant weekend at the GVAA Memorial Day Tournament, Moorestown’s 9U District baseball team swept the tournament as defending State Champions with a 9-3 victory over Marlton in Voorhees Township. They played six games and a grand total of 36 innings against the Waterford Warriors, Medford Black Diamonds, Marlton Thunder Black and the Moorestown Flames. The girls of Storm 12U claimed the title of champions of the Delran Spring Fling Tournament. The team was coached by fourth-grade teacher Deborah Landry and fifth-grade teacher Vince DelDuca. The students competed against 10 elementary schools throughout New Jersey in several events, including Straw Egg Drop, Water Rockets, Tennis Ball Catapult, Can Race and Calculator Contest.
